Mooney's half-century can't save Ireland

Ireland crashed to a disappointing defeat to a PCA Masters X1 on Thursday as it builds its preparations ahead of the ICC World Twenty20 2009.

Batting first, Ireland made 139-9, with John Mooney top scoring with 57, against an attack that included the likes of Darren Gough, Phil De Freitas and Peter Such.

Ireland then struggled to come to terms with the batting talents of West Indian Kieron Pollard, who smashed 43 not out off 26 balls, including two sixes, as it reached its target with four balls to spare.
